Anconeus epitrochlearis

Patient, woman 38 years old. Nubmness at ulnar nerve innervated area of the fingers, mostly at night.

Electroneurography and electromyography shows normal findings.

Echoneurography shows mild ulnar nerve enlargement on the left side measuring 10 mm2 in cross sectional area just proximally to medial epicondyle, range for mild neuropathy is CSA 10-14 mm2. Also presence of anconeus epitroclearis on the same side, wich in itself has an unclear significance but will most likely be removed if surgery would ever be performed in the future. Opposite, right, side shows a slight increase in nervesize between the two mucleheads of flexor carpi ulnaris where CSA is 8 mm2, besides that normal findings and CSA just proximally to medial epicondyle is 6 mm2.

Ulnar nerve ultrasound proximal to distal over the elbow. Clearly visible anconeus epitroclearis in the cubital tunnel. Mild enlargement of ulnar nerve 10 mm2 at the level of medial epicondyle, compared to the opposite arm wich was 6 mm2.

Same patient, opposite arm. No presence of anconeus epitroclearis. Short axis view.
